Chuck Jones
Chuck Jones was an an artist, animator and director who began his career in 1933. He is most commonly known for his productions with Warner Bros. where he produced cartoons like Looney Tunes.
Many classic cartoons like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, Pepé le Pee and Porky Pig were written, produced and directed by Jones.
Jones worked with Warner Bros. up until 1962, before he left to produce cartoons for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer like Tom and Jerry shorts and the television adaptations of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and Horton Hears a Who.
He also painted fine art and in 1970, Jones opened his own studio called Chuck Jones Enterprises.
Jones has won several Academy Awards, including Best Animated Short Film for The Dot and the Line in 1966, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996.
Many people perceive Jones to be the historical authority on the development of animation throughout the 20th century, and one of its main contributors.
He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and was awarded an Inkpot Award in 1974. In 1997, he was awarded the Edward MacDowell Medal.
