In the early 2000s Benes left Marvel to go work for DC Comics, on titles like Gen13, Birds of Prey, Supergirl Vol. 3 and Superman Vol. 2. Benes also illustrated for writer Brad Meltzer's run on the series Justice League of America from 2006-2009.
