Jeff Jones, later known as Jeffrey Catherine Jones, was a comic book artist and painter. Jones worked for a number of different publishers including Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Gold Key Comics, King Comics and others.
Much of Jones' work was done while she lived as a male and published under the name Jeff Jones, although she later transitioned to female and changed her name to Jeffrey Catherine Jones.
Jones was a prominent cover artist as well throughout the 1970s and 1980s, providing cover art for many different fantasy paperback novels and horror comic book titles like Creepy, Eerie and Vampirella.
Jones was also a prolific painter of fine art in the fantasy and sci-fi genres.
She shared a studio space in Manhattan's Chelsea district along with Bernie Wrightson, Barry Windsor-Smith and Michael Kaluta, which they simply referred to as The Studio.
In 1967, Jones was nominated for the Hugo Award for best fan artist, and would later be nominated for the Hugo Award for best professional artist in 1970, 1971 and 1972.
